Before I Say Anything Else…Let Me Say This:

My photography style is documentary – I am driven by the feelings and relationships that fuel your wedding day. I create images that remind you what it was like to be there; images that bring you back to how it felt to be there. I want to capture those cuddly, heart-warming, boundless, joyful, deep, breathtaking, once-in-a-lifetime moments together. It’s the small, individualized moments of love, passion, and devotion that I strive to capture, with the heartfelt belief that marriage itself is powerful, and specifically, uniquely expressed by the two people involved. I want to get to know the both of you, how you met, how you fell in love, even what your biggest dreams are for your marriage. I want to create something incredible with you. I want to tell your story — honestly.

          Frequently Asked Questions

How far in advance do we need to book?
If I have the date available, it’s yours! Typically portrait sessions are booked a few months in advance, and weddings six months to one year in advance.

          What are your prices?
California weddings start at $3,900, but my average client investment is $5000. Elopements start at $2,250, and portraits start at $550. My goal is to tell your story honestly. Reach out here for more details.

Why is wedding photography so expensive?
This is one of my favorite questions to answer. I wish you could join me each and everyday that I’m working, but since that can’t happen I’ll share a bit behind the scenes.

Before we even get to your wedding date we’re spending hours emailing, FaceTiming, texting, creating  timelines, organizing with your coordinator, scouting locations, and dozens of other things that go into wedding day prep. Then your special day arrives, and I’ll travel (usually at least 3 hours) to your venue,  spend time with you and your family documenting every second of our time together, then travel all the way back to my home to spend a few more hours backing up all  of your images. After your day, I’m spending hours and hours and hours culling, editing, sharing sneak peeks, finishing your full gallery and creating a slideshow all before I’m finally ready to send the competed gallery to you. You might think my work is completed, but NOPE! – there’s still more to do! I’m helping with printing, designing an album, usually making sure your mom knows how to download the images too, plus so much more. So really, there is no end. I’m always available and working hard for you and each one of my couples AND their families too. Not to mention the usual things that go along with running your own business like insurance for my gear and your venue, all the software, the fact that I have one child and another on the way, the cost of living in beautiful California, and a million other things (because I’m a real human too).  So there you have it – why I’m priced like I am.

On a final note, I genuinely do give a crap about you. I didn’t choose this career because I wanted to be a millionaire. Far from it actually. I wanted to be someone that couples could come to and count on for every part of their wedding day. I’m the person who helps remember where the rings are and search for them when they fall out of your best man’s pocket. I wanted to talk with your mom on the phone afterwards and walk her through how to download the photos or order some prints. I know I can give you some incredible photos, that’s what my photography degree was for. I choose everyday to invest in you, your story, and your legacy because I care about you.

          Do you shoot elopements?
You bet! My husband and I eloped, so elopements have a special place in my heart.

What is the difference between a wedding and elopement?
I consider an elopement one couple and less than 15 of their closest friends and family.  Anything larger falls under the category of a “traditional” wedding.

Do you work with a second photographer?
Yes! I photograph with my husband, but I also have a talented network of photographers that I often work with. I recommend a second photographer for weddings with over 75 guests.

What is the point of a second photographer?
Having a second photographer provides an additional set of eyes – an additional view and an additional creative contribution to your wedding photographs. When I am busy with the girls getting ready, the second photographer can be with the guys. While I am photographing portraits, the second can be focusing on details. While I look at the dress one way, the second sees it an entirely different way, and so on and so forth. It’s a valuable asset to have additional perspectives on one of the most important days of your lives!

How many images will we get?
The most important thing for me is to focus on the quality of the photographs, and not the quantity. Generally, you can expect 50-75 images per hour of coverage. The photos you receive will be polished, high-resolution images that tell the story of your wedding day.

When will we get our images?
You will receive all of your final high-resolution images after your wedding or engagement session within 6-8 weeks depending on the season. They are your images, and you may print them wherever you please, but I always recommend printing through my lab so I can ensure print quality!

          Do you have insurance?
Absolutely. If your venue requires proof of insurance, just let me know.

          How do we book?
I reserve weddings on a first-come, first-served basis. A non-refundable 50% retainer fee and signed agreement are required to reserve your date. The remaining balance is due no later than on month prior to your wedding or session date. You can get the conversation started by reaching out to Say Hello.
