Before I Say Anything Else…Let Me Say This:

My photography style is documentary – I am driven by the feelings and relationships that fuels your wedding day. I create images that remind you what it was like to be there; images that bring you back to how it felt to be there. I want to capture those cuddly, heart-warming, boundless, joyful, deep, breathtaking, once-in-a-lifetime moments together. It’s the small, individualized moments of love, passion, and devotion that I strive to capture, with the heartfelt belief that marriage itself is powerful, and specifically, uniquely expressed by the two people involved. I want to get to know the both of you, how you met, how you fell in love, even what your biggest dreams are for your marriage. I want to create something incredible with you. I want to tell your story — honestly.

          Frequently Asked Questions

What is your experience with photography?
I’ve had a camera in my hand since middle school. I decided to pursue the passion and turn it into a career when I started college. I have degree in Fine Art Photography from Louisiana Tech University, and have been shooting weddings professionally and full time since 2012.

          What is your shooting style?
My style is documentary – I am driven by the emotion and connection that fuels your wedding day. I create images that remind you what it was like to be there, and images that bring you back to how it felt to be there. I want to capture those intimate, timeless, hilarious, meaningful, exhilarating, moments together. I don’t like the awkward stiff poses that make you feel like a robot – I want the real you. This means that I value getting to know you both before we meet, hearing your story of how you met, fell in love, and what’s most important to you.

          What gear do you use?
          Canon 5D Mark IV, Canon 5D Mark III, Canon 35mm 1.4/L, Canon 50mm 1.2/L, Canon 85mm 1.2/L, and Canon Speedlite 430EX II

          Do you have backup gear?
It’s never been an issue, but should there be an equipment issue, back ups will be in place.

How far in advance do we need to book?
If I have the date available, it’s yours! Typically portrait sessions are booked a few months in advance, and weddings six months to one year in advance.

Should we schedule an engagement session?
Yes! Engagement sessions are so much fun – that’s why they are included in my wedding package. They are a time for us to get to know each other and go on a photo adventure. If you are nervous about being photographed at all, this will cure it for sure. By your wedding day, you will feel totally comfortable in front of the camera.

I don’t live near you, what can I do with my included engagement session?
I would be happy to fly or drive to you for your engagement session. However, there may be additional travel fees associated with that. You could also use your engagement session as a day after session. You’re getting married in an epic, memorable place that means so much to you – why not spend an extra day there and get even more photos of you and your new spouse?

          Do you shoot elopements?
You bet! My husband and I eloped, so elopements have a special place in my heart. I especially love laid-back elopements in nature.

What is the difference between a wedding and elopement?
I consider an elopement one couple and less than 15 of their closest friends and family.  Anything larger falls under the category of a “traditional” wedding.

          What are your prices?
California weddings start at $4,500, elopements start at $2,250, and portraits start at $550. My goal is to tell your story honestly. Reach out here for more details.

Can we post our photos on social media?

Yes, absolutely! Just be sure to give me photo credit in the caption, and that you don’t make any alterations to the images since I have already done that for you.

Can I share these images with friends, family, or vendors for social media?
Again, absolutely! The same requirements apply when friends, family, and vendors post to social media. They must be sure to give photo credit in the caption, and they can’t make any alterations to the images.

Do you work with a second photographer?
Yes! I photograph with my husband, but I also have a talented network of photographers that I often work with. I recommend a second photographer for weddings with over 75 guests.

What is the point of a second photographer?
Having a second photographer provides an additional set of eyes – an additional view and an additional creative contribution to your wedding photographs. When I am busy with the girls getting ready, the second photographer can be with the guys. While I am photographing portraits, the second can be focusing on details. While I look at the dress one way, the second sees it an entirely different way, and so on and so forth. It’s a valuable asset to have additional perspectives on one of the most important days of your lives!

Where are you based? Do you travel?
I’m based out of Sacramento, California. I love to travel, and will gladly journey to wherever your love takes you.

How many images will we get?
The most important thing for me is to focus on the quality of the photographs, and not the quantity. Generally, you can expect 50-75 images per hour of coverage. The photos you receive will be polished, high-resolution images that tell the story of your wedding day.

When will we get our images?
You will receive all of your final high-resolution images after your wedding or engagement session within 6-8 weeks depending on the season. They are your images, and you may print them wherever you please, but I always recommend printing through my lab so I can ensure print quality!

How will we get our photos?
I deliver my photos online using Pic-time, as it is a great platform for sharing your photos digitally with friends and family across a variety of social media platforms. It is also a great way to print your favorite memories quickly and easily.

What type of payments do you accept?
I only accept credit and debit card payments.

          Do you have insurance?
Absolutely. If your venue requires proof of insurance, just let me know.

          How do we book?
I reserve weddings on a first-come, first-served basis. A non-refundable 50% retainer fee and signed agreement are required to reserve your date. The remaining balance is due no later than on month prior to your wedding or session date. You can get the conversation started by reaching out to Say Hello.
