Beautiful Mount Shasta Wedding

The sun glowed brightly in McCloud, California as Gabe and Elisha started getting ready for their wedding. Elisha got ready in her Plum Pretty Sugar pjs with by her mom, sister, (future) sister-in-law, and closest friends. Elisha’s mom helped her slip into her dress while all of the bridesmaids looked on with excitement.

The first look took place under a beautiful grove of trees behind the Inn. She slowly approached, nervous and excited to see him for the first time. Gabe slowly turned around as Elisha touched his shoulder gently. As he soaked in her beauty a smile began to lift on his face. Their love permeated every part of the property.

Guests began to arrive and take their seats. Old friends reconnecting, soaking in sublime views of Mount Shasta. Back at the Inn the bridesmaids started praying over Elisha, getting her ready to walk down the isle.

The joy from the ceremony was tangible. Like a ripe strawberry, everyone took a bite and enjoyed its sweetness. “I now pronounce you husband and wife,” said the officiant. Confetti filled the atmosphere as they skipped down the isle!

Moments later the toasts began. Stories were shared of how these two had impacted the lives of everyone in attendance. Gabe’s dad gave some advice to Elisha on the best way to get Gabe to open up when he’s having a hard time; a game of basketball. Then he handed her a basketball.

Toasts led to tears, and tears led to laughter, and laughter led to dancing. Gabe and Elisha were overflowing with love for each other, but weddings are not just about love, they are about the story, the history. They are a beautiful moment in time. Capturing them is magical, not only because of the excitement – but because of the story the photographs get to tell, each one a bit different in their visual prose. As a wedding photographer, I have the privilege of documenting each significant part of the day, and displaying the unique and personal story each couple has to express as they begin their new family.
