Bryan + Katie: Lake Natoma Maternity Session
It takes a truly brave woman to be eight months pregnant while choosing to climb over giant rocks and wade through chilly water for the perfect maternity shoot. Katie is just that incredible, and she and her husband Bryan came ready for anything. We found a beautiful spot by Lake Natoma to capture photos of their new adventure into parenthood, and the warm weather and coming sunset made the trek down to the shoreline so worthwhile. Their wide-eyed, childlike playfulness was so fun to capture, and the joy between them was palpable.
One of my favorite things about a maternity session is the way a husband looks at his wife. You can tell with every glance that he is so full of pride for how strong and brave she is already. Bryan was no exception, and every time he looked at Katie you could see the indescribable joy wash across his face. After time by the lake, we made our way to the top of a parking garage to enjoy the sunset more fully. Bryan and Katie danced together to the tune of Crazy Love by Van Morrison, and snuggled closely to one another. It was the perfect ending to a beautiful time capturing their love and connection, and the life that love has made.
