Have you ever met someone who just gets you? Someone who gives you permission to be that quirky weird version of yourself that sings Third Eye Blind when it comes on the radio at the top of your lungs while hammering some beef jerky and talking about poop? That is Toby and Colette. They are probably the most kind and genuine humans I have ever met. They create safe places wherever they go and I was over the moon when they say “yes” to adventuring with us in Guerneville, California.
Yeah, we had never heard of that place either until we discovered The AutoCamp on Instagram. Guerneville is a quaint and peaceful town about 90 minutes north of San Francisco. It is located in the heart of the Russian River Valley and about 20 minutes from the Pacific Ocean. The AutoCamp is a boutique camping experience that allows guests to enjoy the spirit of camping with the comfort of a luxury hotel.
The stay was one of our best experiences of the year. We explored, ate incredible food, and found refuge from the 9-5. There was something magical about staying in an Airstream under a blanket of Redwood trees and stars. It is almost as if the atmosphere revitalized our souls.
I’ll let the photos fill in the details.
